Pilot Project in Uganda, Africa

Improved Clean Cookstoves
and Solar Electricity
Empowering Women and Children

Think Greener, LLC is in search of partners and investors to help implement our scalable pilot project focused on empowering women and children by implementing improved clean cook stoves and renewable energy into two rural counties in Uganda, Africa.

The Project is estimated to take one year, reaching 163 villages with a population of approximately 80,000 people who currently do not have electricity and burn kerosene at night for intermittent lighting and cook on inefficient and unhealthy stoves such as traditional three-stone fires.

This scalable renewable energy project directly contributes to 10 of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Kit of parts

The improved clean cook stoves are handmade by the women of the villages. Providing them a skill, source of revenue and much more! The materials for the stoves are locally sourced by women from either anthill soil or clay.

The stoves are designed to allow for a small fan to push fresh air into the fire chamber, allowing for a clean and efficient burn. The fan is powered by PV solar energy. A 15W solar panel will generate DC current which is stored in a 12V battery. Volcanic rocks placed above the flame retain heat and reduce the amount of biomass needed for cooking. The excess DC electricity is stored in the battery to be later used for lighting, charging phones and other needed technologies.
