A consistent theme within my blogs relates to identifying new solutions helping to reverse the impacts of climate change and encouraging everyday people, communities, cities, and governments to change their old ways and adopt renewable and regenerative practices. This is all leading up to a new clean green economy that will provide economic development while creating new jobs!
Saudi Arabia is a great example of a country that is advancing towards its vision for a new economy and it’s probably the one you may not think would ever make this transition. Their vision is to diversify its economy and move away from fossil fuel dependency by 2030!
Dumut al-Jandal has connected a large scale 400 MW wind farm comprised of 99 turbines, each producing electricity… Continue reading
For the world to stand a fighting chance against climate change and achieve a NetZero emission economy, businesses will need to start a clean transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy and see this as an opportunity instead of an obstacle. Our governments must pave the way by creating new policies and offer large short-term investments to ensure fossil fuel free electricity is readily available.
These are important roles the government and public entities must play to reduce risk for new investors to make green investments in new solutions attractive for private capital. At the same time, creating green value chains through public procurements will allow for the construction and technology industries to implement proven solutions aiding in a clean… Continue reading
The fossil fuel industry has been a major contributor to global warming and exploitation of workers, communities, and our environment. The utilization of fossil fuels leads to a high concentrations of air pollution that typically affects indigenous, brown, black, and working-class communities. Here in the USA, an estimated 350,000 deaths are caused every year by these industries. Our own taxes are paying billions of dollars every year to support the function of these large powerful corporations that poison our communities and destroy our climate.
It is time for all of us to come together in collaboration with our governments to divest from systems of exploitation and extraction of fossil fuels and begin investing in renewable energy and scalable solutions… Continue reading
We have arrived at the new normal for utility scale power plants utilizing renewable energy sourced from large scale solar with battery storage. This is one reason why I am optimistic that humanity can achieve net zero emission soon. Florida’s Power and Light (FPL) is the largest energy company in the United States and is a believer in renewable solar energy! FPL has already installed 41 solar farms and producing 3,000 MW of electricity! Wow… but that’s not it…
FPL just completed the demolition of its last coal fired power plant and is in the process of completing the worlds largest solar powered battery system! Please check out this great quick read for some more amazing details on this renewable energy… Continue reading
