Have you ever heard of a Solar Garden? Well today, Think Greener will shine our sustainable spotlight on Agrivoltaics. Pairing solar panels with farmland is a no brainer and is a glimpse into our future!
It is my pleasure to introduce Jack’s Solar Garden, a 24-acre family farm located in Colorado. The farm transformed from traditional farming, growing wheat as a cash crop and hay to feed their cattle. It is the nation’s largest commercially agrivoltaics research system and vegetation growth under solar panels.
This scalable, sustainable practice helps reduce the impact farming has on our natural resources. Farming is extremely energy intensive and creates about one third of greenhouse gas emissions and account for 85% of global water consumption. Some of the benefits of… Continue reading
As Think Greener prepares to hit the road in 2022 and travel the US with a zero-carbon footprint in a self-converted campervan, this solution hits home!
A team of Dutch students designed the world’s first solar powered mobile home, capable of traveling 454 miles in one day! Please see the link here for greater details and more pictures! The camper has a large solar array on the roof that extends vertically to allow for greater headroom when parked, a kitchen, sleeping area, bathroom, and cockpit. When parked it is an efficient 188 sq ft of space.
I look forward to the near future, when larger auto manufactures start to focus on the EV RV market! When they do, I am onboard! For now,… Continue reading
New sustainable Solution in the works for eliminating underwater electrical transmission lines from offshore wind farms to onshore substations! Can you guess what that might be???
It’s an electrically powered autonomous ship capable of traveling 300 km, filled with large batteries that stores electricity generated from offshore windfarms located far from the coast in very deep waters!
Brilliant… Right!
A Japanese company, PowerX, is THINKING GREENER and outside the box, making the process of energy transmission more resilient, efficient, and with less impact on our environment.
Want to know more about this scalable, renewable energy, sustainable solution, helping to reverse climate change!?
