Earth Day and Earth Week is a time for me to reflect on important aspects of the climate crisis. It is a time for action and advocacy. Several thoughts come to mind: Is modern society living in harmony with our beautiful Mother Earth? How can I reduce my carbon footprint while implementing new sustainable solutions into my everyday life? How can I engage in sustainable actions with my friends and family? Can I make a positive impact in my community? What organizations can Think Greener, LLC join forces to help reverse the devastating and unprecedented effects of the climate crisis? What actions can I take to promote positive policy change benefiting a sustainable, just society and economy?
Looking back on Earth Week 2022, I wanted… Continue reading
Recently, the United Nations released a climate report written by IPCC announcing climate change is devastating the planet faster than humans can adapt! As the earth continues to warm, we are faced with the harsh reality that countries are not taking enough action to reduce the emissions of greenhouse gasses.
The effects are clearly visible around the globe, as extreme weather events displaced more than 13 million people across Africa and Asia in 2019. Unprecedented storms creating floods displaced millions of people from their homes. Diseases like dengue and malaria are spreading into new parts of the world. The rising heat is creating deadly droughts killing crops and trees while putting millions of people at risk of increased malnutrition… Continue reading
Sustainable solutions come in many forms and sizes as indicated in my blogs. I am proud to spotlight Serbia’s effort to bring climate change awareness and carbon sequestration to the heart of their capital city, Belgrade in the form of an outdoor urban photo bioreactor that uses the process of photosynthesis to convert Carbon Dioxide (CO2) to Oxygen (O2)!
Wow… sounds complicated and expensive. This tech, called LIQUID3 is not so complicated and is also financially feasible. LIQUID3 is the solution! It is a safe, simple, and inexpensive technology serving as an educational component implemented into the city’s streetscape. LIQUID3 sequestration of carbon contributes to the reduction of Greenhouse Gasses (GHG) in the air… Continue reading
