Our friend Steve from Pachamama Alliance returned safely to the States from a 10-day journey through the Amazon with his small group of ecotourists. They ventured into the Achuar territory of Ecuador where the headwaters of the Amazon are located. It was great to receive his update that all went well and the local indigenous Achuar people of the Amazon welcomed Steve and his small group back to the Amazon after a two-year absence due to Covid. He says, “None too soon as the oil, mining, and timber companies are pushing hard to enter the territory”.
